When we launched Geometric, we made a commitment to only hire advisors who are as bright and capable as our clients.  Given the professional and academic achievements of our clients, we are intentionally creating a very high hurdle.  We believe that’s part of what sets us apart.

With that in mind, I am thrilled to announce that Patrick S. McGough has joined our firm as a Wealth Advisor.

Patrick’s background, while untraditional for wealth management, is exactly what we were looking for.  An engineer who transitioned to energy consulting after getting his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, his analytical abilities are well-established.  But rather than go the traditional “quant” route of joining a trading desk at an investment bank or hedge fund, Patrick decided that it would be more fulfilling to serve individuals and families.  Having long acted as an informal wealth advisor to friends and colleagues, he recognized the need for the service Geometric provides, believed that he would be a good fit, and accepted our offer to join the firm.

On a personal level, I have known Patrick for over two years, and I am continually impressed by his intelligence, reliability, thoughtfulness, and calm demeanor.  I am proud that our many conversations have led first to a friendship, and now to a partnership.

Our firm’s clients are sharp and analytical, with the resumes to match.  As Geometric grows, our challenge will be to find advisors who can add value to these rightfully-demanding clients.  I am excited to have found one in Patrick.
