John Morrison joins Geometric Wealth Advisors

I am excited to announce that John Morrison has joined Geometric as our Chief Investment Officer (CIO).

As Geometric has grown, the need for a dedicated CIO has become apparent – our clients and team deserve a full-time, talented leader in this seat. That said, replacing myself in this role was difficult. To say I hold our evidence-based investment philosophy dear to me is an understatement; I originally chose this profession because of the desire to evangelize it (back when there were fewer true believers). Not only would any CIO need to be fully aligned on that “religion,” but they’d need to care about it just as deeply, know the nuances expertly, be able to communicate it fluently, and have experience scaling it operationally.

Enter John, who I’ve known for several years. John was a leader at Dimensional Fund Advisors for seven years, then joined a VC-backed wealth advisory firm where he built the portfolio management team and processes from scratch. (Somewhat incredibly given our client base, John also briefly worked as a consultant at Bain & Company post-MBA!) We share an investment philosophy down to the smallest of details. John has a rare combination of investment knowledge, communication skills, and operational experience. More importantly, he has a good heart and understands what is special about Geometric.

John makes us better, and we’re lucky to have him.
